On November 9, 2010, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) held a teleconference for stakeholders to discuss the anticipated elimination of overseas filing of I-130 Petitions.  U.S. citizens residing abroad can currently file an I-130 Petition for Alien Relative with a U.S. Service Center or at a U.S. Consulate or Embassy abroad.   In the event USCIS changes how and where these petitions are adjudicated, this may cause additional delays in processing.  For more information about filing I-130 Petitions, contact one of our U.S. attorneys.
